NA RECIPES | Let’s All Do Better!| by Cate

Spurred by a scene overflowing with sweet, uninspiring choices and lackluster soda-citrus substitutes, we founded Zero Proof Collective to champion a vital cause in the nonalcoholic cocktail space: the need for better NA options.

Our mission is twofold.:

First, we encourage venues to offer an array of NA cocktails that are not only unique but also health-conscious. These cocktails should be meticulously crafted, boasting individual names, signature garnishes, and stunning presentations—an embodiment of inclusivity.

Second, we're committed to educating these venues about the importance of nutritional balance, recommending a modest 100-calorie cap for each cocktail (although many can contain fewer calories). By promoting these ideals, we affirm that NA cocktails can be visually appealing, sumptuous, and inclusive, while also constituting a more mindful indulgence.

In the early stages of my creative journey, I found myself magnetized by the allure of crafting irresistibly delicious cocktails. These beverages were so tantalizing that they turned out to be almost too gulpable, evaporating from the glass in a flurry of eager sips. This realization led me to reevaluate and pivot my approach.

Nowadays, I lean into crafting cocktails that are SIMPLE but still have a nuanced flavor profile: think notes of bitterness, a dry finish, and layers of complexity that beckon for a more leisurely, sippable experience. The intent is to cultivate a drink that not only delights the palate but also encourages savoring each sip, effectively transforming the experience into one that lingers rather than vanishes in mere minutes.

All of us, who have chosen this challenging journey, need to learn to be adept as the NA world turns, changes and evolves. Together we are overcoming similar obstacles and re-shaping a common narrative, proving that NA beverages can be sophisticated, inclusive, and sustainably indulgent. And yes, tomorrow is a new day and we can all do better!
